The Rest of WPPI

On Valentine's Day I attended the BI (Business Institute). This is the place to be for those of you that want to improve your photography business skills. The day was packed with amazing speakers. Covering topics like: marketing, branding, sales, advertising, etc. They were very knowledgeable and uplifting. Some of my favorite speakers were:

I spent the next few days attending one workshop after another with my buddy Kennedy. We had such a blast. Friends sure make this world a more interesting place to live. Some of my absolute favorite presenters were:

Beth Forester - incredible senior photographer
Nancy Emmerich - another amazing senior photographer
Jim Garner - wonderful wedding photographer
Jerry Ghionis - very talented wedding photographer
Julienne Kost - works for Adobe and gave a hilarious presentation about Lightroom 2 (this girl could seriously be on SNL, she had the crowd laughing the entire time!)

To see such great talent in one place was incredible. This was the first year I attended the WPPI Conference, and I thought it ws THE PHOTOGRAPHY EVENT OF THE YEAR! You learn so much in such a short amount of time, you get to connect with photographers from all over the world, and meet face to face with vendors. You get to ask all the questions you've always wondered about. If you aren't a WPPI member yet, go to wppionline to register. Plus, you receive a free Rangefinder magazine subscription (this is a great resource for photographer). I love getting my copy in the mail every month, its filled with great ideas and inspiration. WPPI ROCKS!

This is my first year going to WPPI. Every photographer I've met says that WPPI is the photography conference of the year to go to. I finally understand why. I have spent the last two days learning and shooting from two of the best photographers in the industry: Alycia Alvarez (award winning family photographer) and Kevin Jairaj (international award winning wedding photographer). Their seminar is called "Rings to Rattles," since they cover the entire spectrum. They are soo talented and such a cute couple. I've learned so much in such little time. 

They had different models come in during the two days and they taught us some tricks and how they do things. I'll be posting some of the pictures I took later. I am kinda tired from all the workshops.  Plus I have more to go to tomorrow. :)
